Barton County Sheriff's Office incident log (7/30)

The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a variety of calls across the county on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, including narcotics activity, warrant arrests, traffic enforcement, and a burglary investigation.

  1. 12:52 a.m. – Narcotics violation reported at Casey’s General Store, 2716 10th St. A report was filed.
  2. 12:55 a.m. – K-9 deployed at same location during the narcotics investigation.
  3. 2:17 a.m. – Two warrant arrests carried out at the Barton County Detention Center, 1408 Kansas Ave.
  4. 7:49 a.m. – Traffic stop conducted at 10th Street and Grant Street in Great Bend.
  5. 10:33 a.m. – Third warrant arrest made at the Barton County Detention Center.
  6. 12:01 p.m. – Traffic arrest at U.S. 281 Bypass and 21st Street in Great Bend.
  7. 2:01 p.m. – Deputies investigated a non-injury accident at Heavy Duty Diesel & Auto, 3208 Railroad Ave.
  8. 5:30 p.m. – Deputies responded to a report of a burglary not in progress at 161 SW 10 Ave., Great Bend. A report was filed.
  9. Throughout the day – Multiple civil calls, follow-ups, driver complaints, foot patrols, and traffic stops were conducted across Great Bend, Hoisington, Pawnee Rock, Claflin, and other areas.

The department also performed several area checks and assisted with EMS and agency coordination. Several cases remain under review.

Great Bend Police Department incident log (7/30)

The Great Bend Police Department responded to numerous calls for service on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, including thefts, accidents, welfare checks, and multiple agency assists.

  1. 12:53 a.m. – Officers assisted the Barton County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic arrest at Casey’s, 2716 10th St.
  2. 12:55 a.m. – K-9 deployed during the same traffic stop at Casey’s.
  3. 9:45 a.m. – A license plate was found near 10th St. and Harrison St. and turned over to police.
  4. 10:11 a.m. – Officers responded to a possible burglary in progress at 2401 Walnut Dr. The caller was later determined to be confused.
  5. 10:37 a.m. – Violation of a protection order reported at 2201 25th St. A report was filed.
  6. 12:13 p.m. – Non-injury accident reported at 3221 Broadway Ave.
  7. 12:23 p.m. – Criminal threats made via Facebook reported from 1118 8th St.
  8. 12:29 p.m. – Panic alarm triggered at the University of Kansas Health System. It was determined to be accidental.
  9. 12:56 p.m. – A possible theft was reported at Joe Farris Rentals, 1801 Stone St. Items were believed to be trash and were returned.
  10. 1:10 p.m. – Subject check at Great Bend Housing Authority regarding a possible warrant. The individual had no active warrants.
  11. 2:50 p.m. – Report of possible elder abuse at Azria Health, 1560 K-96 Hwy.
  12. 3:54 p.m. – Domestic disturbance reported at 2925 Gano St. Officers determined everything was okay.
  13. 5:25 p.m. – Welfare check conducted on a male in a wheelchair near 9th St. and Washington St. Subject was okay.
  14. 8:37 p.m. – Officers responded to a fight call at the Best Western Angus Inn, 2920 10th St., but found no altercation in progress.
  15. 9:42 p.m. – Wallet turned in at Best Western and returned to the owner.
  16. 11:03 p.m. – Officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run in the 5800 block of 16th St. Terrace. No damage was found on either vehicle.

Throughout the day, officers also handled multiple traffic stops, civil matters, animal complaints, EMS assists, building checks, and several 911 hang-ups.
