The 6th ranked Barton Community College men's tennis team's rally from three down fell short Monday at Veterans' Memorial Park as the 12th ranked Pratt Community College Beavers held on for a 5-4 victory.
Barton dropped each of the three doubles matches before winning the first three singles matches to tie the match up. The Cougars took the lead on a come-from-behind three set victory in one of the three remaining but the comeback fell short as the Beavers won the final two matches including one in three sets.
The Cougars drop to 8-3 overall and 1-1 in league with its next match coming Thursday, April 6th, in a 1:00 p.m. first serve at top ranked Cowley College.
Barton Women
The 6th ranked Barton Community College women's tennis team stayed unblemished on the season Monday with a clean sweep over 21st ranked Pratt Community College.
Barton opened the afternoon at Veterans' Memorial Park with a key victory in a nationally ranked doubles matchup to continue its sweep including two defaulted matches in moving to 2-0 in conference play.
Next on the schedule is the Cougars' biggest test of the year as Barton travels to 2nd ranked Cowley College on Thursday, April 6th.
