From UWCK
This year, United Way of Central Kansas (UWCK) is honored to continue the long-standing tradition of providing Christmas Food Boxes for families in Pawnee County, taking on the role faithfully led by the Fort Larned Lion’s Club for the past 50 years.
The need in Pawnee County is great—45% of households are ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) or living below the poverty line, meaning nearly half of our neighbors are working hard yet still struggling to meet basic needs. These Christmas Food Boxes provide relief, dignity, and hope for families facing financial stress during the holiday season.
Families who would like to be considered for this program must complete an application form in full, including contact information and an alternate contact. Once complete, applications may be returned by mail to PO Box 1742, Great Bend, KS 67530 or emailed to [email protected].
Applications must be submitted by Oct. 29. Failure to return the form by this deadline may result in being declined from this year’s program.
Once applications are reviewed, families will be contacted with next steps. Approved families will receive a letter with pick-up details. If not approved, families may be given the opportunity to resubmit information.
To request an application, please call 620-792-2403 or email [email protected] and one will be mailed to you.
If you are interested in supporting this project, you can donate online at www.uwck.org or contact UWCK directly. Together, we can ensure families in Pawnee County have food on the table this holiday season.
