The Great Bend Recreation Commission, along with Dropping 22, is hosting a first responder appreciation night on Thursday, Sept. 26. The evening will give community members a chance to thank all of the area first responders at the My Backyard Playground, 2715 18th Street.
Great Bend Rec Enrichment Director Garet Fitzpatrick said a food bus will be available for the evening.
"The food truck will come up with a meal," said Fitzpatrick. "We invite the public to help support them and have a night for them to bring their family. For us, it's an opportunity to thank them for all they do for us and the community."
Each first responder will receive a $5 coupon. The event, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., will include music and fun family time on the playground.
All first responders and community members are welcome to attend.
