The Golden Belt Community Concert Association will present The ’70s Show with Jim Witter and his band at 7 p.m. Sept. 27, at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone.
The show is presented as a Saturday night in 1979, and Jim’s parents have gone away for the weekend. Jim and his friends have the house to themselves and have been practicing for the school talent show. They are ready to perform ’70s hits including “Midnight at the Oasis,” “Bad Bad Leroy Brown,” “Killing Me Softly,” “Tie A Yellow Ribbon,” and many more.
GBCCA concerts are open to association members. No single tickets are available. Because the association encourages young people’s interest in music and the performing arts, full-time students are admitted to the concerts for a $5 donation at the door.
The Golden Belt Community Concert Association and the Great Bend Recreation Commission provide eight handicap parking spaces in front of the northeast entrance of the auditorium for every concert.
