Making a difference in people’s lives and improving the world. That is how Barton County is advertising the call to serve on their volunteer boards and committees.
Barton County Administrator Matt Patzner informed the Commission last week there are several non-compensated, volunteer positions that are available. Commissioner Tricia Schlessiger said anyone interested in giving their time to their community should apply.
"I think we all know how important it is to have people that are interested in these projects on these board," said Schlessiger. "If you have an interest in getting involved, here are several opportunities."
Barton County has board availability for Central Kansas Community Corrections, Central Kansas Library System, Fire District #2, Memorial Parks Advisory and Southwest Area Agency on Aging.
"I appreciate their time and effort when they serve," said Commissioner Donna Zimmerman. "Some of those boards are pretty busy."
