While it was publicly announced in early 2022, the official dedication of naming the city courtroom will take place March 28.

Bob Suelter served the City of Great Bend for 42 years as the city attorney. City Administrator Brandon Anderson said the dedication will name the courtroom the Robert G. Suelter Courtroom at the Great Bend Municipal Court.

"I'm excited to be able to do that on March 28," said Anderson. "We'll be dedicating that courtroom to Bob Suelter. There will be light refreshments. We'll get that heavily publicized in the coming weeks. We had to postpone that from early on."

The dedication will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the newly built Justice Center, 1121 Baker Avenue. The $9 million facility includes the courtroom and the police station.

Suelter began working for Great Bend as a part-time attorney in 1979 and retired in November 2021. Suelter practiced private law while working for Great Bend until 1995 when he went fulltime for the city.
