Great Bend junior Wyatt Weber leads a trio of Panthers who placed at the 5A state wrestling tournament Friday in Park City.
Weber became a three-time state placer Friday as the junior earned his first state championship at 138 pounds.
He opened the tournament with a second period fall over Ty Lewis of Shawnee Heights.
In the championship semifinals Weber outlasted Mill Valley's Carson Dulitz for a 4-1 win.
Then in the championship match Weber earned first period fall at the 1:20 mark over Crus Lara of Bonner Springs.
Weber finished the season 32-3.
At 106 pounds junior Kaden Spragis brought home a second-place finish.
Spragis started the tournament with a second period fall over Tobius Kriner from St. Thomas Aquinas.
He followed that with a 4-1 win over Dillon Cooper of Mill Valley.
But in the championship match he fell short, losing by a 7-3 decision to Nick Treaster of Newton.
Spragis is now a two-time state placer.
At 113 pounds Avery Wolfe ends his second with a four-place finish.
He recorded a first period fall over Bonner Springs Ethan Cook.
In the championship semifinals Wolfe lost to eventual state champion Nakaylen Shabazz by a first period fall.
Wolfe went 1-1 on the consolation side of the bracket, including a 2-0 loss to Jayden Miller of Goddard in the third place match.
Wolfe is a three-time state qualifier and earned his first top-six finish Friday.
