The Barton County Sheriff's Office will conduct a concealed carry class from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Saturday October 31st at the Sheriff's Office Training Facility, 396 Northeast 30 Road east of the Great Bend landfill. The class is a prerequisite for obtaining a state-issued concealed carry handgun permit. Even though permits are no longer required, citizens are strongly encouraged to take the class. Enrollment is limited and residents of Barton County will be given priority. Cost is $50 per person, payable in advance.
