Society rewards a lot of people with things like fortune and fame. Often overlooked are those who make the biggest differences in everyday life. Eagle Media is trying to change that. Beginning Sept. 1, anyone can visit Great Bend Post.com and nominate a school hero, presented by OPI. The winner will be selected on the fourth Tuesday of each month, and Eagle Media's Director of Promotions Becca said that lucky winner will receive $500.
"We're doing something brand new this year: it's nominate a school hero," she said. "Nominations will start being accepted on the form on Sept. 1. Now is the time to recognize those who go above and beyond. You can nominate a school hero."
The rules are simple. Eligible heroes must work at a Barton County school. Anyone can nominate the hero. Tell us their name, what they do, and why they deserve to win.
"Admins, teachers, paras, coaches, maintenance staff, cafeteria workers - anyone is accepted," Becca said. "Again, you have to go to Great Bend Post.com, click on the contest tab, and check out Who is Your School Hero."
The contest form at Great Bend Post.com will go live at midnight on Monday, Sept. 1. The first winner of the contest will be announced on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
