
On Sunday, June 26 at approximately 11:35 p.m., an officer from the Great Bend Police Department observed a vehicle being driven by Cassandra Maupin, age 40.
The officer checked with Barton County Dispatch, who confirmed Maupin did not have a valid drivers license. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 900 block of Kansas Avenue.
K9 Menta performed a free air sniff of the vehicle and indicated to the odor of illegal narcotics. A search of the vehicle was performed, and illegal narcotics were located.
Maupin was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, no drug tax stamp and no DL.

A passenger in the vehicle, Mark Caton, age 31, was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and no drug tax stamp.
