Georgiana Magdalen Herrman, 84, passed away Oct. 8, 2022, at Lamar Court Assisted Living, Overland Park. She was born on Feb. 2, 1938, in rural Rush County, to Isidore and Albertina (Legleiter) Herrman. She married Francis A. Herrman on Aug. 24, 1956, at Liebenthal. He died Jan. 22, 1990.
A Great Bend resident for over 60 years, Georgiana recently moved to Overland Park. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was an avid reader and was always up to date on current news and events. Georgiana enjoyed traveling with her children in her later years. She loved playing bingo, Scrabble, cards, and board games while spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Karen Knowles and husband Joe (Arvada, Colo.), Dana Konda and husband Virgil (Spearville), Floyd Herrman and wife Susie (Overland Park), Patricia “Trish” Miller (Wichita), Janet Mullins and husband John III (Dripping Springs, Texas) and Michelle Haetten and husband Todd (West Melbourne, Flo.); a brother, William “Bill” Herrman and wife Lucy (LaCrosse), a sister, Mary Catherine Dreher (Plainville); seven grandchildren, Cade Olson, April Crockett, Matt Konda, John Mullins IV, Marissa Mullins, Korynn Haetten, Caleigh Haetten and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her ex-husband, Francis A. Herrman; a son, Dennis Herrman; a brother, Mike Herrman; and three sisters, Viola Depperschmidt, Lillian Leiker and Henrietta Haselhorst.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Aneesh Parappanattu presiding. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Memorials have been designated to American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
