Exercising while playing a game? That is part of goal for the latest addition at the Great Bend Activity Center on 18th Street. In the spot to place the old vending machines, the Great Bend Recreation Commission inserted an interactive touch wall for all ages and fitness levels.
Rec Executive Director Chris Umphres said the screen allows participants to play several games.
"You can compete against someone else and play one versus one," said Umphres. "You can also do the whole board by yourself which gets you spread out pretty good. It tests your peripheral vision and stretching. It's a cool game."
The Great Bend Rec plans to use the touch wall for fitness classes and also to entertain children in the lobby while they wait for their classes or practices to start.
A variety of games will challenge users’ reaction, hand-eye coordination and neurological development.
