For 40 years, Great Bend's Jed Kuhn delivered Christmas packages as a driver for UPS. Saturday morning, it was his turn to be the recipient of a big gift. Kuhn was the sixth finalist in Eagle Radio's Shop at Home for the Holiday's $10,000 Shopping Spree. He became a finalist after registering at Nex-Tech, and can now do some holiday shopping at any of the 19 participating sponsors of the contest. The question is: where?
"I have no idea because I really didn't know if I was going to win or not," Kuhn said. "I really haven't looked."
Sixty-one finalists were named ahead of Saturday morning's big giveaway at the Crest Theater in downtown Great Bend. One final contender was drawn just before the giveaway. The contest came down to Kuhn and Rebecca Herrman, who registered at Dawson Jewelers. Kuhn has previously been a semifinalist in the shopping spree and was once a finalist in one of Eagle Radio's car giveaways, but he said this is his first big win.
