A $2.8 billion NCAA settlement will let schools pay athletes directly, ending the amateur model that defined college sports for over a century. But many fear women will be left behind, with roster limits threatening opportunities in non-revenue sports and underfunded schools like HBCUs facing even greater strain. Female athletes argue the plan favors men’s football and basketball, lacking safeguards to ensure gender equity or Title IX compliance.
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Dallas Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer says his heart and the hearts of his players are still heavy after the death of defensive end Marshawn Kneeland. The coach says they continue to share, laugh and cry after the loss of their teammate. Schottenheimer held his first media availability Wednesday since Kneeland’s death during their bye last week. Brown's lawyer says it was his own gun.
