Another Halloween is officially in the books, and the spiders, pumpkins, and ghost decorations can be put away in favor of things a little more jolly. For those unable to put up their own Christmas decorations, the Barton Community College Wrestling team is ready to help out. Coach Nathan Broeckelman said his squad will be assisting residents from Nov. 20 through Dec. 15.

"I just thought it was a little bit of a unique way to one, get the kids out in the community, and two, it will be donation-based, so potentially help out with some of our travel expenses where we're not going door-to-door to try to sell something or we're not just asking for money," he said. "It's a service that can be provided to some people who really enjoy Christmas but maybe just aren't able to get it decorated or don't have time to get it decorated."

The team can assist with most types of decorations, including indoor and outdoor lighting, inflatables, or other yard decorations. Thanksgiving break begins on Nov. 20 for BCC students, but the wrestlers will in town for practice on Nov. 20-21 for anyone needing help with decorations prior to Thanksgiving. After that, the Cougars will mostly be available for assistance on weekends and in the evenings.

Anyone with questions about the program can contact Coach Broeckelman by calling (785) 871-7981.
