
On Friday, May 19, deputies with the Barton County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on US 281 Highway at milepost 103, just south of the City of Great Bend. During the course of the contact, deputies noted drug paraphernalia inside of the vehicle. Further investigation revealed methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
The driver of the vehicle was a juvenile and placed under arrest. This individual was turned over to the Juvenile Justice Authority for processing. A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Lamont Tyus, age 27 of St. John, and was also arrested. Tyus was transported to the Barton County Jail without incident and booked on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
