
After several weeks of investigation, Barton County Sheriff’s Office detectives executed a search warrant on Friday, July 22. The warrant was executed about 7:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Cherry Lane, in the city of Great Bend at an apartment complex.
Sheriff’s deputies forced entry into the apartment after the occupant failed to answer the door. The suspect and a juvenile were located inside.
The suspect identified as Heath Urban, age 38 of Great Bend, was arrested at the scene for distribution of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school and aggravated child endangerment. Urban remains in jail as of this morning and is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
The child was released to a family member.
