Debbie Hagans officially started her position as principal at Holy
Family School in Great Bend on July 1, but that didn’t stop her
from putting in extra work prior to that date. Hagans was coming into Holy
Family one day a week prior to her official start date to get everything ready
for the new school year.
Hagans said enrollment is a big focus right now and classes are filling up at the
private elementary school. The decision was made to cap each classroom to 25
students.
"Our sixth grade class is already capped," said Hagans. "If people are interested in enrolling, they need to give me a call here at the school. Those numbers are approaching the 25."
Retired Great Bend High School band director Mark DeWald has agreed to run the band
program at Holy Family for sixth grade students this year.
"An email went out to the sixth grade parents that they need to let us know if their child is interested in band," said Hagans. "We have some instruments the kids can use or they can provide their own instruments as well."
Holy Family will conduct their enrollment Aug. 1 from 4:30 p.m.
- 6 p.m.
