K-State Extension to host Ag Profitability Conference in Hays on Jan. 15

Kansas State University Research and Extension Department of Ag Economics, in collaboration with Cottonwood, Walnut Creek, Phillips-Rooks, & Midway Districts, is hosting a Farm Profitability conference on Jan. 15, 2026. The conference, “Making ‘Cents’ of a Shifting Ag Economy,” will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ag Research Center located at 1232 240th Avenue in Hays.

The session, organized by K-State’s Department of Agricultural Economics, will provide insights into current economic trends, farm policy, and strategies for maintaining profitability during challenging times, including those related to land values.

Topics will also include updates on agricultural policy and changes to the farm bill. Speakers Robin Reid and Jenny Ifft will also discuss provisions in the “One Big, beautiful Bill.”

The conference registration fee is set at $10.00. Reservations are requested by Monday, Jan. 12, to ensure an accurate meal count. High Plains Farm Credit is graciously sponsoring the lunch cost.
