Barton Wrestling falls to 8th ranked NW Tech

The Barton Community College wrestling team dropped its final home conference dual of the season Tuesday night at the Barton Gym 32-21 to 8th ranked Northwest Kansas Technical College.

The Cougars' will close out conference play Sunday at the Jayhawk Duals held at the Fieldhouse in Salina, KS. Barton will open the day at 11:00 a.m. taking on Neosho County Community College with matches later against Labette Community College (12:30pm), Cowley College (2:00pm), and 4th ranked Pratt Community College (3:30pm).

Barton's lone mat victory came from Zane Hennessey in the 149 class, as the freshman bounced back from last week's major decision result beating Amulek Partida with a 9-2 decision result improving his conference record to 2-1 on the season.

The Cougars aided behind a trio of open weight victories as Avery Wolf 125 division, Cohen Suchy 141 division and Chance Unruh 165 division closed out Barton's final points of the dual.

Northwest Tech also benefitted behind a trio of open weight wins in the 184, 197, and 285 divisions.
