This past March, USD 428 Great Bend decided to enter into a lease agreement with Enterprise Fleet Management. The school district agreed to a three-year lease program on 10 vehicles.

Enterprise is now approaching the City of Great Bend to gauge their interest in a lease program for their city operations. City Administrator Brandon Anderson said staff has internally looked at the proposal, and now he wants an Enterprise representative to present to the city council.

"We can get a full presentation on how that leasing proposal would work," said Anderson. "I'm sure there are some questions you have. We internally are asking some of the same questions. We'll try to be prepared for when he does come. I think it's a good idea to at least hear it out, see and look at it. We can make decisions moving forward."

The Great Bend school district used the Enterprise lease program to immediately replace 10 of their older vehicles with 2023 Chevrolet Traverse SUVs. By phasing out all 38 vehicles within six years, Enterprise estimates $359,000 in savings over a decade for the school district.

Anderson said the intent is to have Enterprise present their proposal at a work session next month after a city council meeting.
