The public is invited to take their first look at the new Justice Center
Monday, July 17, as the Great Bend City Council will take a tour of the $8.8 million
police station and municipal court. While the move-in date is not scheduled
until September, City Administrator Brandon Anderson said the 20,100
square-foot facility is at a good point to view.
"Most of the construction is done," said Anderson. "I feel comfortable it would be pretty safe for all of us to run through there without hard hats. It's definitely come a long way since I first saw it when I came to interview. I'm really excited to showcase that."
The city council will tour the police station, at the intersection of 12th
Street and Baker Avenue, at the end of the regularly scheduled meeting Monday at City
Hall which begins at 6:30 p.m. The governing body will recess and reconvene at the
Justice Center, 1121 Baker. Being part of the open meeting, the public
is welcome to join the tour to take a peek at the facility.
