Around 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, KBI agents arrested Christy M. Nemnich, 32, of Ellinwood, connected to the death of a 4-month-old infant. Nemnich was arrested on a warrant for one count of first-degree murder, two counts of child abuse, and one count of operating an unlicensed day care.
She was booked into the Barton County Jail. Charges were filed by the Kansas Attorney General. All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
