The City of Hoisington and Stutzman Refuse Disposal is ready to conduct the annual fall cleanup. If there are larger items or objects that Hoisington residents have been waiting to get rid of, now is the time.

Residents on the east side of town will have their items picked up Thursday, Sept. 21 and those living on the west side will see their items picked up Friday, Sept. 22.

Hoisington Code Enforcement Officer Dolores Kipper reminded everyone to have their items sorted in piles by the curb.

"I know that Stutzman comes with a trailer to pick up all the mattresses first," said Kipper. "They systematically gather everything that is at the curb. Because of that, it really helps if everything is sorted somewhat neatly into piles."

Stutzman will pick up furniture, plastic, electronic waste, appliances, mattresses and other trash. Residents disposing of any appliances that contain Freon will be charged $25. There will be fees associated with tire pickup too.
