WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Wichita State scored late and often in a 73-69 victory over South Florida, Saturday evening at Charles Koch Arena. WSU (13-9) erased a seven-point deficit by putting up 27 points in the final 7:00. The Shockers improved to 4-6 in American Athletic Conference play after an 0-4 start.

LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) — Jalen Wilson scored a game-high 22 points and No. 8 Kansas held off stubborn Oklahoma 71-69. Kansas used a 15-2 run late in the game to come back from a deficit and take its largest lead. The Sooners trimmed it to 70-69 before Wilson hit a free throw. Jordan Goldwire’s jumper in the final seconds caromed away. Kansas (20-4, 9-2 Big 12) also got 18 points from Christian Braun and 11 from Ochai Agbaji. Oklahoma (14-11, 4-8) was led by Goldwire with 20 points and Tanner Groves with 19 points. Elijah Harless added 12 and Jalen Hill had 10.

AMES, Iowa (AP) — Markquis Nowell scored five of his 16 points in overtime and Kansas State rallied from a 15-point second-half deficit to beat Iowa State 75-69. Nowell made three 3-pointers and had six assists. Nijel Pack made four 3-pointers and scored 19 points. Mark Smith added 15 points and nine rebounds and Ismael Massoud scored 11 points for the Wildcats. Izaiah Brockington scored 27 points with seven rebounds to lead the Cyclones, who have lost four straight. Washington State transfer Aljaz Kunc made his first start for Iowa State and made five 3-pointers, scoring 16 of his 19 points in the first half.

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — Terrence Shannon scored 20 points and ninth-ranked Texas Tech beat TCU 82-69 after overcoming a 13-point deficit. The 19-6 Red Raiders are undefeated in their 15 home games this season. Kevin McCullar made a 3-pointer with 5:06 left in the first half to start a decisive 24-5 spurt for Tech. That 3 came only a minute before he suffered a left ankle injury after stepping on the foot of TCU coach Jamie Dixon. Bryson Williams had 16 points for Tech, with the go-ahead three-point play right after halftime. Mike Miles had 16 points to lead 16-6 TCU.

WACO, Texas (AP) — Adam Flagler had 20 points and 10th-ranked Baylor beat No. 20 Texas 80-63 after losing big man Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua to a gruesome left knee injury. Flagler made his first five shots and had 13 points in the first half when 21-4 Baylor went ahead to stay. James Akinjo added 15 points with seven assists and six rebounds for the Bears. Flo Thamba, the 6-foot-10 forward forced into extended minutes with Tchamwa Tchatchoua hurt, had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a career-high 30 minutes. Andrew Jones had 11 points for the 18-7 Longhorns. It's their most lopsided loss in coach Chris Beard’s first season.

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Moussa Cisse finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Avery Anderson III scored 18 to power Oklahoma State to an 81-58 romp over West Virginia. Cisse sank 8 of 12 shots from the floor for the Cowboys (12-12, 5-7 Big 12 Conference) on the way to his third double-double of the season. Anderson was 10 of 12 at the free-throw line and added seven boards. Oklahoma State took a 36-30 lead after Tyreek Smith’s layup at the buzzer capped a 5-0 run to close out the first half. Bryce Williams had back-to-back layups to end a 16-2 spurt to open the second half, giving the Cowboys a 52-32 lead with 13:47 remaining. West Virginia (14-10, 3-8) never threatened from there. Malik Curry topped the Mountaineers with 13 points off the bench.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Holly Kersgieter and Taiyanna Jackson both had double-doubles to lift the Kansas Jayhawks to a 63-51 win over the Kansas State Wildcats in the Dillons Sunflower Showdown on Saturday night at Allen Fieldhouse. With the win, Kansas has now won five consecutive Big 12 games for the first time since 2000, while improving to 17-5 on the year and 8-4 in Big 12 play.

NEW YORK (AP) — Baseball negotiations lasted for an hour when Major League Baseball made a new proposal that lawyers for locked-out players thought had only minor movement. Major League Baseball eliminated the penalty of a third-round amateur draft pick for exceeding the luxury tax threshold. Management maintained its plan to increase the threshold from $210 million to $214 million in both 2022 and 2023. Baseball increased its proposed threshold to $216 million in 2024, followed by $218 million and $222 million in the last two years of its proposal.

SCOTTSDALE, Az. (AP) — An ace at the Waste Management Phoenix Open sparked thunderous cheering and sent beer spraying in the stands that wrap the par-3 16th. Sam Ryder’s caddy also jumped in his arms after the hole in one. There will likely be fireworks Sunday as newcomer Sahith Theegala tees off with a one-shot lead over Brooks Koepka, who won the tournament twice. Tied for third are Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffle.
