Barton Men 3, Seward County 0
The 5th ranked Barton Community College men's soccer team pitched their sixth shutout of the season Monday afternoon at the Cougar Soccer Complex earning a 3-0 victory over Seward County Community College.
Having already clinched the program's 12th Jayhawk Conference title on Saturday, the Cougars conclude conference play with a top mark of 9-1-2 and move to 14-1-3 overall while the Saints finish tied for sixth in the conference standings at 3-7-2 and 8-7-3 on the season.
Barton wraps up the regular season Tuesday evening with a trip to Wichita for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff against the junior varsity squad of Newman University. The Cougars then enter post-season play on Saturday hosting a first-round playoff game tentatively scheduled for Saturday at 1:00 p.m. hosting sixth seeded Coffeyville Community College (3-7-2, 7-7-4).
Barton Women 8, Seward County 1
The 8th ranked Barton Community College dominated 8-1 over an undermanned first-year Seward County Community College program Monday afternoon at the Cougar Soccer Complex to wrap up the regular season slate.
The victory improves the first place Cougars to 12-1-3 in conference and on the season while Seward County concludes their inaugural season at 1-13-2 in the KJCCC and 1-13-3 overall.
Barton will open up its Plains District title defense on Saturday hosting Coffeyville Community College as the Red Ravens finished 8th in the conference standings at 3-13 and 5-13 on the season. A 3:00 p.m. kick-off is slated as the 5th ranked Barton men's squad will also face Coffeyville in the 1:00 p.m. earlier game.
