The prize is still the same but the checks are getting bigger. As a presenter for Eagle Media's Make a Difference contest this school year, OPI gave away the first big check of the year to Park Elementary School sixth grader Zeke Bartlett, who makes a difference by being nice and helping others. Eagle's Director of Promotions Becca surprised Zeke with the news last week.
"You won $100 for winning the first week of Make a Difference," she said in front of Zeke's classmates. "On top of that, you were actually entered in for a monthly grand prize of an additional $100, but your teacher could also win $100 as well. This is just step one."
All K-6 students in Barton County are eligible for the contest. In addition to the $100 from OPI, Zeke also took home goodies from the contest's other sponsors. As a weekly winner, Zeke will now be one of just a few finalists for another $100 in the monthly drawing. The teacher of the monthly winner also receives a $100 prize.
The Make a Difference contest, presented by OPI, is sponsored in part by Big Ben Custom Engraving, Freedom Claims Management, Great Bend Redi Mix, Francis Financial, Medical Park Pharmacy, R&R Roofing, Allstaff Chartered, Miller Plastics, Rosencrantz Bemis Water Well Service, Great Bend Rec, Jimlo Glass Center, Haz Mat Response, & Scooter's Coffee.
