The Barton Community College women's basketball team not only created fouls Wednesday evening but converted those opportunities at the free throw for a 64-59 victory at the Barton Gym over Cloud County Community College.

The teams battled throughout the evening to 14 ties before a late Barton 7-0 run in 90 seconds flipped the tide for the 11th and final lead change avenging the Cougars' 26-point loss earlier in the season at Concordia.

Led by the 12-of-20 free throw shooting from Vivian Onugha helping to eliminate four Thunderbirds on fouls from the game, Barton sank 27-of-39 from the stripe having drawn 29 Cloud County fouls.

The victory improves Barton to 6-9 in KJCCC play and 10-11 overall while Cloud County drops its third straight sliding to 7-8 in the league and 12-8 on the season.

Barton will next head to Arkansas City on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. tip at Cowley College before hosting Butler Community College next Wednesday.

Onugha finished with a 24-point, 24-rebound outing with a career tying 4 steals registered her 11th straight and 17th double-double of the sophomore's season while also marking her 6th time grabbing 20 or more rebounds in a contest.

Regina Donanu's twelve first half points helped Barton build a 32-26 halftime lead, finishing with 14 points on the evening and 2-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.

Brittany Simpson added 10 points with a team high 3 assists, draining 5-of-5 from the stripe with a clutch pair of charity tosses ringing pure with 14 seconds left growing the lead to its final margin.

Alaina Eck was also solid toeing the line sinking 6-of-7, to go along with 1-of-2 from long distance for 9 points.

A combined 6-of-11 arc buster shooting from the Thunderbirds' TiAna Davis and DaNae Crosby led to a team leading 23 and 17 points respectively.
