Saturday's riding high was met by Sunday's what-could-have-been bitter feeling as the Barton Community College women's soccer team split results of a two-game trip to Tyler, Texas.
On Saturday the Cougars scored early and often in an 18-0 overwhelming victory over Trinity Valley Community College with multiple program record book impacts including freshman Nina Norshie's sixteen point performance. Returning to the same pitch on Sunday morning, an overtime goal spoiled the Cougars' upset bid in falling 2-1 at No. 2 ranked Tyler Junior College.
The weekend result leaves Barton at 3-1 on the season with Trinity Valley slipping to 0-2 and Tyler remaining unblemished at 3-0.
The Cougars will next turn its attention to conference play beginning at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday hosting Garden City Community College before capping a two-game homestand on Saturday in a 1:00 p.m. non-conference matchup versus Western Wyoming Community College.
