The City of Hoisington is moving forward with improvements at a pair of parks and throughout town. At Bicentennial Park and Heritage Park, new playground equipment will be installed.
Hoisington City Manager Jonathan Mitchell said the playground upgrades are possible because of the City of Hoisington’s Quality of Life endowment.
"If you're trying to find a way to make a lasting impact in your community, feel free to make a contribution to the the endowment or make estate planning," said Mitchell. "That's going to make improvements to our recreational facilities and just to our community possible."
Hoisington will also be replacing city lights with new LED lights. Grants will cover the expense of purchasing the first 400 light bulbs.
"We have been waiting to get some of the paperwork stuff approved," said Mitchell. "That has been approved. We are going to start ordering hundreds of lights. Hopefully, you'll see a difference with that. It should also create a significant energy savings for the community as well."
Giving Tuesday is Dec. 3 with the Golden Belt Community Foundation where you can donate money to endowments, including Hoisington’s quality of life endowment.
