This morning, Great Bend High School (GBHS) conducted a planned lockdown drill in coordination with local law enforcement and their K-9 unit during a regularly scheduled visit.
During this time, GBHS received a threatening phone call, prompting an extended lockdown while law enforcement assessed the situation. Due to their presence on the premises, officers were immediately available to investigate. After a thorough review, the threat was determined to be non-credible. The lockdown was lifted, and normal operations resumed.
There was no immediate danger to students or staff. GBHS remains committed to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment, and we appreciate the swift response of local law enforcement and the cooperation of our students and staff.
