During her monthly report at the Great Bend City Council meeting Monday, Great Bend Economic Development Director Sara Arnberger told the governing body a preservation team is preparing a new downtown application.
The app will feature walking tours to bring the history of the downtown to life.
"We have a team of 12 committee members that are feverishly doing research and collecting photos," said Arnberger. "It's going to be an interactive app. It'll be for anyone. We have interactive scavenger hunts or information-loaded tours. You can pick your course."
Economic Development aims to launch the app with their first tour options at the beginning of May with more tours being added throughout the year.
GBED is also accepting entries for the June Jaunt parade on May 31. The “Parade Through Time” was created to celebrate the history of Great Bend. Parade entries can be submitted online by visiting gbedinc.com/mainstreet.
