The No. 8 Barton Community College men's soccer team took care of business Tuesday afternoon, striking for three first half goals on its way to a 4-1 road victory over the Tabor College junior varsity squad Joel H. Wiens Stadium in Hillsboro.

The third straight victory moves the Cougars to 10-3-2 on the season while the Bluejays JV squad slides to 4-3-0 overall. Barton will have little rest, returning Wednesday for a pivotal 1:00 p.m. clash with No. 11 Dodge City Community College at Cavanaugh Field in Great Bend, with second place in the Jayhawk standings on the line.

Rafael Calmon opened the scoring midway through the first half, netting his fifth goal of the year off Sho Kinjo's first collegiate assist. Luan Cony followed nine minutes later with his first career net shaker to double the margin, before Angel Sainz converted a setup from Cory in the 42nd minute for his eighth of the season and 3-0 halftime edge.

Tabor JV spoiled the shutout just over two minutes into the second half, with Barton sealing the result in the 86th minute as Sainz struck again, finishing a pass from Kotaro Kimura for his ninth goal of the campaign.

Making just his third start in net, Keagan Lewis turned away three of the four Bluejay shots faced to earn his second victory of the year.
