The Lady Panther volleyball team set a new school record with 31 wins in a season last year in its final win of the season. At Saturday's Western Athletic Conference Championships in Garden City, the ninth-ranked Lady Panthers needed to beat three of four opponents to surpass that mark. With a come-from-behind win against Garden City in the late match, Great Bend pushed its win streak to 25 games and bumped the new school record for wins in a season to 33.

The Lady Panthers opened the day with a 25-15, 25-20 win against Liberal, then reached 31 wins with a 25-17, 25-16 win against Dodge City. Fittingly, the 2024 squad set the new school record and secured the WAC title with a 25-20, 25-21 win over Hays. Garden City took set one of the final match 25-19 before Great Bend rebounded to win the final two sets 25-21, 25-14.

Great Bend moves to 33-2 on on the season and will host a Class 5A substate next Saturday.
