Each year, a report is put together at Barton Community College to highlight the college’s progress in meeting the direction provided by the Barton Board of Trustees. The report goes through statistical data such as enrollment, budgets and pass rates.

Barton Chief Communications Officer Maggie Harris said the 2024 community report also shares stories on how the college has impacted students.

"One thing you'll notice as you go through the report this year is really a focus on our local students," said Harris. "We hope Barton has positively impacted them and brought them back to the communities to help serve. We have a story on some of our high school and dual-credit students."

Barton students that transferred to Kansas four-year institutions in 2023 accumulated a 3.42 grade point average at Wichita State University. At Kansas State University, former Barton students had a 3.37 average GPA.

Barton’s headcount for the 2023-2024 school year was 10,942 at all campuses with 43% of the enrollment being within the 20-to-24 age group. The college’s headcount makes Barton the second largest community college in Kansas, behind Johnson County.

From the student population, 55% are from fully online programs, and 4% comes from student athletes at Barton.
