Two things we are learning about the Great Bend High School Softball team. They don't give up and continue to show improvement.
The Lady Panthers rallied from a 9-3 deficit to Hays High Tuesday to take a 10-9 lead in the top of the seventh inning, only to see the host Indians score twice in the bottom half of the inning to claim a 11-10 Western Athletic Conference victory in Hays.
The Indians led 9-3 after scoring 5 times in the bottom of the fourth inning before the Lady Panthers scored 2-runs in the fifth, 4-runs in the sixth and the go ahead run in the seventh before Elle Dreiling knocked home the walk off winner with a single in the bottom of the inning.
DeShawnna Bryant hit two home runs for Great Bend who dropped to 0-9 overall and 0-5 in the WAC.
The two teams continue their series in Great Bend Thursday with a double header at the Great Bend Sports Complex.
