KBI: Silver Alert canceled, missing Great Bend man found

BARTON COUNTY – The Barton County Sheriff’s Office reported to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) that James R. Stevens, 77, was located safe tonight in Kearny County. The Statewide Silver Alert is now canceled.

BARTON COUNTY – The Barton County Sheriff’s Office requested the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) issue a statewide Silver Alert for a missing Great Bend man.

The whereabouts of 77-year-old James R. Stevens, of Great Bend, are unknown and the public’s assistance is requested to help locate him.

Stevens is likely driving a white 2022 Toyota Tacoma bearing Kansas tag 954RYR. He has not been seen since approximately 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24.

Stevens is a white male who is around 6 foot 1 inch tall and weighs approximately 230 pounds. He has white hair, blue eyes, and was last seen wearing a black coat, blue jeans and a camo hat. Stevens has dementia.
