Tyler Reeves, age 27

Tyler Loren Reeves, 27, passed away June 21, 2023, surrounded by family at the University of Kansas Health System – Great Bend Campus. He was born June 26, 1995, in Hoisington, Kansas, to Patrick Jones and Tracy Reeves.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Tyler was a sergeant at Larned State Correctional Facility. He enjoyed gaming, playing Pokémon and was part of the Dungeons and Dragons group. He also enjoyed shooting, playing guitar, cooking and taking his beloved dog, Axel, to the river with him. Tyler was known for his sense of humor and occasionally taking a joke a bit to far.

Survivors include, a son, Everhett Reeves and daughter, Hazelyn Trimmer, with another child on the way; his companion, Aeriana Trimmer; his mother, Tracy Reeves of Great Bend; his father, Patrick Jones of Larned; his brother, Keshaun Novak; four sisters, Trinity Reeves, Carmen Jimenez, Deijah Jones, and Kiera Jones; his grandfather, Gary Reeves of Great Bend; great grandmother, Jeanine Gowdy of Larned; his aunt, Marcy Reeves (Scottie Schmidt) of Great Bend; great aunts and uncle, Dan and Sue Gowdy, and Cindy Berscheidt, all of Great Bend; and cousins, Jourdel and JaLeea Reeves. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ann Reeves; an uncle, Eric Reeves; and great grandmother, Martha Reeves.

Visitation will be held from Noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Schumacher presiding. Inurnment will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Memorials have been designated to the Tyler Reeves Memorial Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
