From the Great Bend Fire Department & EMS...
At approximately 3:50 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, Great Bend Fire Department personnel responded to the report of a structure fire in the 1900 block of Main Street in Great Bend.
Firefighters found fire coming from the door of the building. Firefighters were quickly able to extinguish the fire and a search of the structure found no one inside.
After the fire was extinguished it was discovered that the building appeared to have been broken into. Investigators from the Great Bend Fire Department, Kansas State Fire Marshal Office and the Great Bend Police Department are investigating this incident.
The cause of the fire has been determined as arson.
