Dodge City won a wind swept Western Athletic Conference softball contest 16-6 Wednesday in Dodge City.
Seven Lady Panther errors led to 11 unearned runs as the Red Demons ended the game after six innings by posting 7-runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Great Bend managed to collect 11 hits and actually took a 5-4 lead heading to the bottom of the third. Dodge closed strong however, scoring two runs in the third to retake the lead 6-5, then added three in fourth and the seven runs in the sixth that ended the game.
The Lady Panthers are now 0-6 on the season and 0-2 in league play while Dodge improved to 3-1 and 1-1.
The two teams resume their series Thursday with a double header at the Great Bend Sports Complex.
