On Oct. 5, the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office and Larned Police Department received a total of five burglary reports throughout the day. Together, the agencies had reason to believe all reports were connected.
Prior to the first reports of burglaries, one subject was arrested on traffic offenses, and another person released. Working quickly as reports came in, the two agencies were able to determine where evidence would be located and that those persons involved in the traffic stop were indeed suspects in the burglaries.
A search warrant was obtained for a property in Pawnee Rock. That evening, the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office and Larned Police Department recovered stolen property and evidence from several of the burglaries.
