KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Bobby Witt Jr. announced in an X post Monday afternoon that he will be part of the Home Derby competition next Monday in Arlington, Texas. He will join Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson, Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm, and Mets first baseman Pete Alonso.
Since being drafted second overall by Kansas City in 2019, Witt Jr. has become the face of the Royals franchise. With a .324 batting average and 15 home runs in the 2024 season, his invitation to the popular sporting spectacle comes as no surprise.
