There will be three open seats on the USD 428 Board of Education as the current terms of Jacquie Disque, Chad Burroughs, and Deanna Essmiller come to an end.
Superintendent Khris Thexton shared that candidates interested in running for the school board must meet certain eligibility requirements, including residency within the district and proper filing with the county clerk.
Great school board candidates, he said, are those who are passionate about supporting students, teachers, and staff. They should believe in the value of public education and in building a strong future for the community.
The filing deadline to be placed on the ballot is June 2, 2025.
