Early voting begins soon in Rice County, giving voters a chance to make their voices heard before Election Day.

Residents can vote early Tuesday, Oct. 28 through Friday, Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and again on Monday, Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. until noon. Early voting takes place in the Rice County Clerk’s Office on the second floor of the Rice County Courthouse in Lyons.

To make voting even easier and more fun, the Clerk’s Office is hosting a special “Pop in Voting” event on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first floor of the Rice County Courthouse. Families are invited to stop by for children’s activities, popcorn, and soda pop, while adults cast their ballots without distraction.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters can visit one of six polling places across Rice County:

· Sterling United Methodist Church

· Celebration Centre in Lyons

· 55+ Club in Geneseo

· Chase Senior Center

· Bushton Community Center

· American Legion Post 258 in Little River

“Voting is your chance to help shape the future of your community,” said Raechel Manley, Rice County Clerk. “Whether you vote early or on Election Day, every vote makes a difference, especially in local elections.”
