Gary Wayne McArthur, 78, passed away on Dec. 16, 2022, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. He was born on July 22, 1944, to G.W. and Ida (Kissinger) McArthur in Denver, Colo. On Feb. 11, 1978, he married Patricia Perkins in Great Bend. She survives.
An area resident since he was 16, Gary was an entrepreneur, working in many areas, including as the owner of Eazy Street for 20 years. He was a fan of St. Patrick’s Day, as well as all things cars/racing. He was a classic car enthusiast, loved NASCAR races, and racing motorcycles, with his leathers on display at the Kansas Motorcycle Museum.
Survivors include his wife of the home; four stepchildren, Larry Milford of Manhattan, Robert Cagle of Great Bend, Wendee Keenan of Great Bend, and Robin (John) Bastion of Harrisonville, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Karla (Larry) Espinosa of Great Bend. He is preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials have been designated to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
