Not only do local artists get a chance to showcase their artwork during Great Bend’s Art & Wine Walk, but it also brings in more foot traffic to downtown businesses. The 10th annual event is scheduled for May 3 to allow participating stores to display the artist’s work.

Great Bend Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Amanda Gaddis said the city is would love to see more artwork.

"We are still looking for artists so we can assign them to specific stores," said Gaddis. "You can get a form at the city website at greatbendks.net."

Two city employees will participate in this year’s Art & Wine Walk. Police Chief Steve Haulmark will display his work, and Zoo Curator Ashley Burdick will display photos of the zoo’s animals.

During the Art and Wine Walk, people travel to the participating stores, taste food and wine and experience the variety of art. If anyone is interested in participating they can also email [email protected].
