Barton women's bowling roll back-to-back fifth place finishes in SWIBC openers

The Barton Community College women's bowling team rolled into the 2025-26 season with back-to-back top 5 showings, placing fifth in Saturday's SWIBC I and fifth in Sunday's SWIBC II at the City View Lanes in Fort Worth, Texas.

SWIBC I Recap:
Saturday's season opener featured four tradition individual games followed by 10 Baker rounds, as Barton totaled 5,084 pins to place fifth among the 10 varsity programs.

Leading the Cougar contingent was Ellie Weeks, producing a 24th-place finish with a four game 679 series and 169.8 average per 10-frames. Tailynn Level concluded her Barton debut three spots back in 28th, rolling a 665 series highlighted by a team high single game of 212. Rylee Lambeth rounded out Barton's top 35 placings in 34th behind a 622 total, while Alexis Wareman, Rose Timmermeyer, Janiyah George, and Anne Timmermeyer all split time in the lineup, each contributing a pair of games.

Louisiana Tech University bested the 10-team field to capture the team title behind a 6,237-pin effort, while Kylee Trexler led the 65-participant field individually to complete the Lady Techsters' sweep with a 947 series and 236.8 average.

SWIBC II Recap:
Returning to the lanes less than 24 hours later, Sunday's SWIBC II consisted of a six-game individual format, as Barton remained consistent on the weekend by recording another fifth place outing with 4,461 pins.

Utilizing an eight-person rotation throughout the day, Lambeth held team best honors with a 39th place finish behind an 803 total across five games, followed closely by Level in 40th with a 789 series. Wareman and Victoria Martinez followed in 43rd and 45th, respectfully, with Martinex producing the team's best average at 167.3 per game.

Louisiana Tech once again dominated the field, sweeping both the team and individual title, with a combined 5,503 pin total and Trexler's six-game 1,175 championship series.

Barton's next action comes in a second straight exhibition matchup on Wednesday at Ottawa University before returning to regular season play October 18-19 in its lone in-state event of the year, the Mid-States Championships hosted at Wichita's West Acres Lanes.
