Eight members of the Great Bend High School Kays and Kayettes Clubs attended the Kansas Association for Youth (KAY) Area 6 Regional Conference on Nov. 6 in McPherson. With this year's theme, “Waves of Service,” the conference provided an opportunity for student leaders and sponsors from surrounding districts to share ideas, discuss challenges, and celebrate successes in service.
The Kansas Association for Youth (KAY), a program of the Kansas State High School Activities Association, is designed to instill strong character and leadership skills in students through organized service opportunities. With a focus on four key areas—school, community, nation, and world—KAY encourages students to embrace their civic responsibilities and develop well-rounded, compassionate personalities.
During the conference, student delegates participated in sessions on leadership training and organizational skills, gaining insights to enhance their local club initiatives. This annual event seeks to motivate attendees to inspire their peers, enriching their own communities through dedicated service and positive change.
The delegation looks forward to bringing their new ideas and energy back to Great Bend High School, where they aim to lead with a commitment to service and community impact.
