The Great Bend Police Department responded near the Central Kansas Dream Center, in the 2100 block of Broadway Avenue, Thursday afternoon to an armed suicidal subject.

Police Captain Scott Bieberle said law enforcement found the subject in the yard around 2 p.m.

"The subject was taken into custody without incident," said Bieberle. "We're seeking further medical attention for him."

Reports indicated the subject was in possession of a knife.
